• Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco permanently closed on August 15, 2013.

• The Capitola Wharf, CA has suffered significant damage multiple times, major storm damage occurred in January 2023. Following a $10 million reconstruction, the wharf reopened in May 2024. *

• The historic wooden pier at Seacliff State Beach in Aptos, CA was completely demolished in March 2023.

• Pacifica Pier in western San Mateo County, California. The L-shaped pier juts out into the Pacific Ocean for a quarter mile from the City of Pacifica. It was indefinitely permanently closed on June 6, 2026, due to structural damages.
