Spirit Airlines ® filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection (August 2025), its second, aiming to restructure in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York by early summer 2026. The airline is drastically downsizing, cutting fleet size to 76–80 planes by Q3 2026, narrowing its network, and adding premium seating to reduce debt.

On the other hand, Delta Air Lines ® is the most prosperous U.S. airline in 2025, leading in both profitability and brand value, as it successfully navigated industry challenges.

I Think Delta should Aquire Spirit to save it.
