This is the closest International airport to town. Additional cab ride to town is required for the next 12 hours. Or you can stay little over a halfway there (about 7 hours drive from the airport) in Bomdila, overnight. ​

The best time to visit Tawang is during the shoulder seasons of March to June and September to October for pleasant weather and clear skies. Avoid the monsoon season(July to September) and harsh winter months (December to February) for optimal travel conditions.​​
